Most home service businesses track revenue by invoices or job totals.
But there’s a better way—something I call Workload Revenue.
What is Workload Revenue?
It’s the total value of work that’s already completed and scheduled within a given month.
That’s your real momentum—not just what you’ve billed, but what’s already happened and what’s set to happen. That flow is what actually drives your month forward.

Why not just call it “Sales”?
Some people group completed and scheduled jobs together and call it sales. The problem? It’s not accurate.
Jobs cancel. You run out of time. Your team hits capacity. Counting those numbers as “sales” gives a false sense of security—and doesn’t reflect what your business can realistically produce this month.
Workload Revenue tells the full story.
It gives you a live snapshot of where you stand. And with it, you can confidently ask:
- Do we have enough booked to hit our goal?
- Are we behind, or are we pacing just fine?
- Do we have the capacity to close the gap?
Want to see it in action?
We built Workload Revenue right into HourlyIQ, and we’re now in Public Beta.
